He was predeceased by: his father Cormick Smith; his wife Diana Sue Caskey Smith; his stepmother Sarah Neace; his granddaughter Jessica Alayne Cox; and his siblings, Jeanetta Cottle, Elsie Freiden, Patricia Perkins, Ollie Vest, Burton Smith, Earl Smith and Willard Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gerri Mayabb (John) of Campton and Terri Smith Perry (Danny) of Abingdon, Virginia; his grandchildren, Amanda Dennis (Trevor) of Morehead, Brian White (Leigh Taylor) of Pikeville and Darrick Turner (Leah) of Louisville, Kentucky; his great grandchildren, Zander Reynolds, Kendon White, Penelope Dennis, Kinley Dennis and Hallie Jo Turner; his sisters, Mildred Allen of West Liberty, Pattie Rogers of Lexington and Sheila Elam of West Liberty, Kentucky; and his sister-in-law Avery Smith of Grassy Creek, Kentucky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
