He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Vance and Martha Hollifield Vance; his grandson Joshua Adam Peyton; and his siblings, Jimmy Vance, Don Vance, Bill, Alonzo Vance, Jr., Genive Barker and Brenda Jo Vance.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Jean Howard Vance of Campton, Kentucky; his children, Anthony "Bub" Vance of Mt. Sterling, Scotty Lee Vance of Campton, Kentucky and Tammy King (Wayne) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and his siblings, Gerald Vance of West Liberty, Kentucky, Doug Vance (Florine) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Deloris Hick (Virgil) of North Carolina, Ada McQuinn (Graylon) of North Carolina and Loretta Evans (Walter) of North Carolina. He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
