He was predeceased by: his parents, Vester Herman and Veora Kidd Gentry; his wife Geneva Rose Gentry; and his siblings, Betty Lou McKinney Routt and Roger Gentry.

He is survived by: his siblings, Donnie (Betty Gentry), Benny L. (Norma Gentry), Thomas (Laura Gentry) and Regina (Marc Judd) of Campbellsville; his half-sisters, Anna Mae Bradley of Greensburg and Mary Ann Lobb of Greensburg; his close friend Jenny Stotts of Campbellsville; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
