He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Rosevelt Payton and Mattie Wilson Payton; and his siblings, Martha Payton, Georgina Garnett, Adelene Alexander, Christine Cobb, Maxine Brents, Theodore Payton Jr., Herbert Payton and Cleon Payton.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Howard of Bowling Green, KY, Bryant Howard of Bowling Green, KY and Josh Barbour; his grandchildren, Shawanda Payton, Salissa Payton, Asia Barbour, Kambree Barbour, Brandon Payton, Rodricus Payton, Sebastian Howard and Savyon Howard; his great grandchildren, Colcyne Brinkley, Kyree Howard, Nalah Howard and Sky'y Howard; and his sister Mattie Austin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
