He is survived by: his wife Wanda Faye Newton (Roberts); his children, Zandell Derr "Ziggy" Newton, Holly Avila, Dallas Shane Newton, James Hicks, Joseph Hicks, Melissa Edelen and Anthony Hicks (Marla); and his brothers, Orville Newton (Rena), Robbie Newton (Diane) and Melvin Ray "Shorty" Newton (Delores).
