He was predeceased by: his son Barry Buchanan; his parents, Jesse Lee Buchanan and Rosa Lee Shanklin Buchanan; and his brothers, Raymond, Coleman and Paul Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Helen Estes Buchanan; his children, Genda Buchanan of Ledbetter, Dana Lee Hopper of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Gregory Buchanan (Debbie) of Kevil and Bradley Buchanan (Lisa) of Plano, Texas; his sister Kay Lynn (Robert) of Altamonte, Florida; and his daughter-in-law Cathy Buchanan. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren.
