He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmas Howard Kilby and Evelyn Crisler Kilby; his son Terry Kilby; his brother William Kilby; and his sister-in-law Clara Graves Kilby.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Doughty Kilby; his son Troy Kilby (Allyson) of Hendersonville, Tennesse; his brother David Lee Kilby of Bandana, Kentucky; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Kilby of LaCenter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
