She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond "Bud" Ackerman. She is survived by: her children, John Ackerman, Sr. (Lisa), Carla Sturgeon (Mark), Michelle Ryan and Carol Hoben (Todd); and her siblings, Randall DeNardi and Mary Whitaker. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
