He is survived by: his parents, Vernon Caldwell and Rubye Shelby Caldwell of Clarksville; his wife Connie Deloach Nelson of Cadiz; his children, Jesse Nelson (Kendra) of Cadiz and Jasmine Nelson (Joe Smith) of Cadiz; his grandchildren, Devyn Nelson, Huntley Nelson, Daisy Smith and Charles J. Smith; his stepsiblings, Vernon Caldwell, Jr. (Cindy) of Lawrenceburg and Louann Hyatt (Vernon) of Lawrenceburg; and his father-in-law Billy Deloach of Cadiz.
