He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine Cheatham Bridges. He is survived by: his children, Norma Jean Braxton, Roy "Sonny" Bridges, Jr., Roberta Tyler (Larry), Albertha (Jerry Bacon), Richard Bridges, Katherine Bridges, Virginia Hudson (Vincent), Arnella McReynolds (Doug), Willie Bruce Bridges, James Bridges and Greg Bridges (Rainey); and his sister Ophilia Brown. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
