With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Dawson Shoemaker of Cadiz, Kentucky, who passed away on July 2, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Sam Dawson; her husband Sam Shoemaker; her former husband Arthur Ray Thomas; and her brothers, Billy Dawson and Carroll Dawson.
She is survived by: her children, Sam Thomas (Elizabeth) of Ocoee, TN, Bobby Shoemaker (Bobbi) of Cadiz, Judy Hunter of Cadiz and Linda Sexton (Richard) of Lyon County, KY; her sister Patsy Lawrence (Layton) of Cadiz; her grandchildren, Michelle Stites (Chris), Emily McAlister, Adam Thomas (Lauren), Daniel Thomas (Jennifer), Tommy Sexton, Stassin Sexton, Summer Papajeski, Natasha Shoemaker, Taylor Shoemaker (Jesse) and Brooklyn Shoemaker; her great grandchildren, Dillon Wallace, Alex Walker, Tyler Stites, Woodson Thomas, Charlotte Thomas, William Thomas, Owen Sexton, Britton Sexton, Alayna Sexton, Aalivia Butler, Adrien Butler, Jada Canty, Branden Canty and Lylah Shoelick; and her great great grandchildren, Bridge Walker and Maddie Mitchuson.
