He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Wilkins and Beulah Johnson Wilkins; his wife Charity "Sue" Wilkins; and his siblings, Steve Wilkins, Jackie and Sharon.
He is survived by: his son Carlton M. Wilkins (N. C.) of Durham; his grandchildren, Derrick Wilkins (Becky) and Crystal Wilkins; his great grandchildren, Courtney Wilkins, Brooke Wilkins and Aiden Wilkins; his brother Larry Wilkins (N. C.) of Durham; and his half-brothers, Randy Wilkins of Hillsboro, Joe Wilkins of Hillsboro, Rusty Wilkins of Hillsboro and N. C..
