He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Gene Sumner and Nina Ray Joyce Sumner; his daughter Mary Leslie Meeks; and his sister Diane Carter. He is survived by: his wife Janet Sumner of Cadiz; his children, Billy W. Sumner, Jr. (Heather) of Calvert City and Vickie Sumner of Paducah; his grandchildren, Dawson Jolly (Madeline Henson), Isaac Steele, Dylan Sumner and Deklyn Jolly; his sisters, Mitzi Langhas of North Carolina and Cindy Castleberry (Dennis) of Cadiz; and his nephew Jamie Castleberry of Cadiz.
