He was predeceased by: his parents, Oral T. Sr. Gillespie and Gertrude Carr Gillespie; and his siblings, Virginia Mask, Chris Gillespie and Juanita Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla "Sally" Litke Gillespie; and his children, Coral Gay Fischesser (Rob), Carlton Gillespie, Clarita Murphy (Sean) and Charles Gillespie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
