He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Sampson and Juanita Jones Sampson; his son Jessy Sampson; and his brothers, John Rick Sampson and Justice Kelley Sampson.

He is survived by: his sons, Jonathon Sampson (Johanna) and Shawn Sampson; his sister Linda Crouch; his grandchildren, Justin Sampson, Jaiden Sampson, Shawnakay Sampson and Trinity Sampson; and his friend Charles Brannon.
