He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Thomas and Thelma Mae Cottongim Meece; his grandson Raylynne Davis; his siblings, Charles Meece and Linda Strunk; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Lillian Mounce.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patty" Meece; his children, Scott Meece of Russell Springs, KY, Kim Meece of Burnside, James Warriner of Russell Springs and Stephanie Davis; his sister Beverly Sears of Poplarville; his granddaughter-in-law Kayla Davis of Burnside; his brother-in-law Larry Strunk of Elihu; his grandchildren, Elijjah Zimmerman, Samantha Dearing and Shelby Dearing (Austin); and his great grandchildren, Rylan Perry, Jessalynn Davis and Shaelyn Davis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the David Cecil Meece Memorial Fund.
