She was predeceased by: her brother Aki Muroe. She is survived by: her husband Gil Stengel; her parents, Masatomo Muroe and Junko Muroe; and her brother Masataka Muroe. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, students and coworkers.
