He was predeceased by: his wife Jan Dabney; his brother Robert "Bob" Dabney; and his brother-in-law Russell "Sonny" Kissel. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Smith (Alan Copenhaver); his sister Barbara Kissel; his close friend Sandy Ludwig; and his grandsons, Stephen and Caleb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
