He was predeceased by: his wife Omalie Cox (Jones); his parents, Earl Cox and Bonnie Lou Cox (Centers); his siblings, Ronnie Cox and Betty Sue McClanahan (Cox); and his grandsons, Nathaniel Joseph Curtis Cox and Matthew Brayden Cox.
He is survived by: his close friend Theresa Peel; his brother David Earl Cox; his sons, Gary Wayne Cox (Lisa) and Daniel Allen Cox; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Abigail Curtis Cox, Dylan Andrew Curtis Cox, Kirsten Lynnlie Cox and Kadence Alexis Cox. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
