He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl G. James and Letty Bird James; his brothers, Howard, Hoyt and Jimmie "Porky" James; his granddaughter Jessica James; and his son-in-law Rick Sanders.
He is survived by: his spouse Aleen Childress James; and his children, Myra Sanders of Wingfield, Greg James of Brownsville, Bruce James of Park City and Doug James (Donita) of Plymouth, OH. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
