With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dorthene Vincent of Brownsville, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Dorthene left this world on January 2, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Johnson and Gertie Johnson; her daughters, Rhonda and Melinda Vincent; and her siblings, Norma Carder, Ruth Bullock, Ben Johnson of Truman, Shirley Johnson and Morris "Jim" Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Royce Vincent; her children, Greg Vincent (Carolyn) of Brownsville, KY, Stacy Vincent (Tara) of Versailles, KY and Hillary Vincent Varvel (Todd) of Norfolk, VA; her granddaughters, Catherine Vincent, Sarah Vincent, Kyndall Vincent and Lynnlee Vincent; and her sisters, Patricia VanMeter and Marjory Durbin.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Grove United Baptist Church (Oak Grove Church Rd, Brownsville, KY 42210).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given in Dot's name to either Hospice of Southern Kentucky, the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, or the Oak Hill Cemetery in Brownsville, Kentucky.
