He was predeceased by: his father Emery Sherman. He is survived by: his wife Gail Stice Tomes; his daughters, Leah Dawn Geary (John) and Courtney Layne Clark (Curt) of Big Reedy; his grandchildren, Noah Geary, Isaac Geary, Abigail Geary, Caleb Geary and Cooper Clark; and his siblings, Dwight Tomes (Jayne) of Iowa and Letha Drury (Mike) of Versailles.

Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Church or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
