He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Ron Helson, Cleo Carrier and Bobby Carnes; his mother-in-law Sheryl Sowell; and his sister-in-law Candice Cole.
He is survived by: his parents, Tammie Carrier and Bart Helson (Lynn); his wife Heather Metzger Helson; his sons, Blake Helson of Bowling Green and Owen Helson of Chalybeate; his siblings, Ben Helson (Danielle) of Nashville, Alex Helson of Nashville and Wendy Bonds (Brad) of Scottsville; and his grandmothers, Judy Carnes of Bee Spring, Vontella Carrier of Bowling Green and Nancy Helson of Louisville. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephews.
