He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Edward Atherton and Elnora Atherton (Underwood); his wife Shirley Ann Atherton; his children, Darrell Atherton and Shirley Darlene Selby; and his siblings, Margie Gerkins, Bobby and Glenn Atherton.
He is survived by: his children, Tommy Atherton (Diana), Terry Atherton (Kathy), Daniel Atherton (Laura) and Michael Atherton (Angela); and his siblings, Linda Zehner and Raymond Atherton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
