She was predeceased by: her parents, William Everett Poynter and Alice Beatrice Coomer Poynter; her son Ronald "Scott" Laugherty; and her half-brothers, Norman Poynter and J. W. Poynter.

She is survived by: her husband Ronald Laugherty; her daughter Kimberly Williams (Bart) of Somerset; her sister Brenda Kay Chapman (Larry) of Russell Springs; her grandchildren, Katlyn Perkins (Jimmy), Kameron Wilson, Brodie Williams, Boone Williams (Jenny), Jake Williams and Shelby Williams; and her great grandchildren, Jaxson Perkins, Kennedy Perkins, Lilly Wilson and Nora Moore.
