He is survived by: his son Michael D. Nevels (Stephanie) of Bronston; his grandson Cameron Adams; his nieces, Amy Marcum, Amanda Melton and Crystal Huckabey; and his sister Vickie Keith. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
