He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeak Cottrell and Bettie Stevens Cottrell; his wife Flossie Cromer Cottrell; his children, Darrell Cottrell and Gayle Debord; his grandson Tim Cottrell; his brother Carl Cottrell; his stepfather Jed Clayburn; and his brothers-in-law, Clearance Reynolds and Kenneth Reynolds.
He is survived by: his children-in-law, Brenda Cottrell of Brodhead, KY and Tommy Debord of Brodhead, KY; his grandchildren, Susan Debord of Brodhead, KY, Angela DeBord Isaacsand (Brandon) of Mt. Vernon, KY, Kim Baldwin (Lance) of Brodhead, KY and Ashley Durham (Brady) of Ada, OK; his great grandchildren, Takina Cottrell, Ava Baldwin, Clay Baldwin and Amelia Isaacs; his great great grandchildren, Camden and Brantlee; and his sisters, Ruby Reynolds, Bonnie Reynolds and Edna Elder (David). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
