We are sad to announce that on September 10, 2023, at the age of 87, Marion Whelan of Brandenburg, Kentucky, born in Flaherty, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Alton and Mary Adelia Whelan; and his siblings, Randall, Francis Whelan and Mary Lou Shireman.

He is survived by: his wife Harriet Rosalie Whelan (Lancaster); his children, Marion Gregory Whelan (Cheryl) of Payneville, KY, Carrie Ann Self (Charlie) of Stamping Ground, KY, Dominic Anson Whelan (Sandy) of Sadieville, KY, Mary Mevelyn Heavrin (Jeff) of Frankin, TN and Jonathan Ashley Whelan (Brittany) of Georgetown, IN; his siblings, Gene Whelan, James "Red" Whelan, Anna Margaret McGehee (Jack) and Rosetta Ditto (Bill); and his close friends, Stephanie, Casey, Kelly, Sally and Sonya. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
