He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Evarts B. English and Judith DeJarnette English; his wife Ann Woolfolk English; his siblings, Evarts B. English, Jr. and Annie McBeth; his foster brothers, Hugh Drury and Granville Kitchen; and his grandson Brian Shehan.
He is survived by: his children, Priscilla Ann Pursiful (Larry) of Louisville, KY, John Edwin English (Mickey) of Alexandria, VA, Jennifer Jane Whyte (Glenn) of Brandenburg, KY, Samuel Patch English (Kim) of Dothan, AL, David Allie English (Jodi) of Louisville, KY and Elizabeth Ellen Clark (Tim) of Lexington, KY; and his grandchildren, Teri Gardner, Mimi Wilson, Jed English, Will English, Jessica Caster, Adam English, Brady Jo English, Allie Gordon, Isaac English, Chase Clark and Cole Clark. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
