He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Baxter and Fannie Wells Hockman (Haynes); his former wife Wilma Jo Hockman (Halbert); and his siblings, Garland L. Hockman and Gloria Kay Hockman.

He is survived by: his wife Lydia Mae Hockman (Fentress); his stepsons, Michael, Mark and Kyle Bennett; and his sisters, Marian Elaine Davis and Rita Frances Hockman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
