He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Steele Sr. and Jeanette Morris Steele; and his brothers, Frank Steele, Jr., Donald "Don" Steele and Thomas "Tommy" Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Christine Basham Steele; his daughter Amy Russell (Grady); his grandchildren, Alisha Snodgrass (Cade), Hannah Russell and Jonathan Russell; his siblings, Gary Steele (Pat) and Georgia Guthrie (Jim); his sisters-in-law, Louise Steele, Nancy Steele and Debbie Steele; and his pets, Andy and TreeTop. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
