He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Curtis and Edna Ayers; and his brother Millard Curtis "Bob" Ayers, Jr. (Frankie) of Salisbury, Maryland.. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Jewell Ayers; his children, Stephen Ayers (Elizabeth) of Bowling Green, Mark Ayers of Orlando, Florida, Bethann Johnson (Daren) of Bowling Green and Dr. Nancy Rice (John) of Mobile, Alabama; his grandchildren, Blake Ayers (Rachel), John Chatham Rice, Dr. Claci Ayers (Alex Henderson) and Abigail Rice; his great grandchildren, Tucker Ayers and Rhett Ayers; and his sisters, Bonnie Gibson of Salisbury, Dottie Ayers of Baltimore and Marilyn Gerardi (Ernest) of Berlin, Maryland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
