He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Agnes Gilbert and Alonzo Jenkins. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Catherine Jenkins; his children, Candace Jenkins, Crystal Travis, Melvin Joe Jenkins Jr., Melkita Oldham and Kaelin Alonzo Jenkins; his grandchildren, Damani Jenkins, Patrick Ryan Ingram, Cierra Jenkins, Dabein Mills, Shaniya Jenkins, Ariel Jenkins and Terrace Oldham; and his stepmother Joann Williams Jenkins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Ln, Bowling Green, KY 42104). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
