With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jimmie Ray Varney of Bowling Green, Kentucky, who passed away on February 6, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Varney and Lola Varney (Bostic); his wife Wanda Varney (Ramey); and his brothers, Tommy, Leroy and Eugene.
He is survived by: his children, Carmen Purpus (Greg), Brian Varney (Carol), Lynetta Stiltner (Rick) and LaWanda May (Mike); his siblings, Garland, Jr., Ivan, Julius, Bruce, MaryJane, Gail and June; and his grandsons, Nick, Patrick, Dean, Cecil, Jaxson and Xane.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bernard Funeral Home (367 Main St, Russell Springs, KY 42642). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
