With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janie Sue Ward of Bowling Green, Kentucky, who passed away on January 22, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Janie Sue has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Love Brookshire Sheffield and George Harrison "Bo" Durham; and her sister Judy of Texas. She is survived by: her significant other James W. Ward; and her children, Wes Ward (Lilith) of San Antonio, TX, Jason Ward (Rhonda) of Madison, AL, Matt Ward (Shannon) of Bowling Green, KY, Jenny Murray (Andy) of Concord, NC and Joel Ward (Llana) of Puyallup, WA.. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel (820 Lovers Ln, Bowling Green, KY 42103). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
