He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershell Smith and Annie Lou Gaskin Smith; his wife Alice Rose Smith; and his siblings, Evelyn Felts, Katherine Watson and Walter C Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Gerald T Smith (Ann) and Royce Alan Smith (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Becky Smith, Jana Fattic (Kurt), Matthew Smith and Justin Smith (Fanny); his great grandchildren, Kara and Nate Fattic; and his siblings, Sandra Pennington (Donald) and Billie D Smith (Claire). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
