He was predeceased by: his parents, Monty Dale Thurston and Katherine Louise Norris; his adoptive parents, Donnie Wheeler and Doris Wheeler; his stepson Robert Shultz; his brothers, Randy and Jason Thurston; his great grandchild Ezra; and his grandmother Bertha D. Lockhart.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Wheeler; his stepchildren, Rusty Shultz (Camillia) and Alannah Bechtel; his siblings, Tracy Miller, Tim Clark (Angie), Will Bumps and Jon Thurston (Bonnilee); his grandchildren, Cameron, Hannah, Kynleigh, Pyper, Baylee, Roen and Autumn; his great grandchild Milo; his nieces and nephews, Samantha, Zach, Taylor, Allison, Payton, Tifany, Elizabeth, Phoenix and Story; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Agnes Louise, Atlas, Brookelynn, Kennedy, Juliann, Lively, Thomas, Jr. and Carson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Faith United Methodist Church (600 Veterans Memorial Ln, Bowling Green, KY 42101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 302 State St, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
