He was predeceased by: his parents, William Newt and Ethel Dockery Embry; and his siblings, Devaul, Buren Embry, Drucilla Woosley and Sue Hall.

He is survived by: his wife Laverne Haynes Embry; his children, Michael Embry (Sheila) and Michelle Parrish; his grandchildren, Tiffany Parrish, Deana Culler, Samantha Switzer, Courtney Embry and Chloe Embry; and his great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Xavier, Reagan, Kylee, Kaiden, Aria and Keaton.
