He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Wheatley and Joan Wheatley; and his sister Donna Wheatley. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wheatley of Boston; his son Glenn Wheatley (Heather) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Taylor Wheatley, Zachary Wheatley and Sarah Wheatley; and his siblings, Paul A. Wheatley (Diane), Joan Travers (Mike), Lisa Taylor (John) and Diana Bratcher (David). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
