He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominick Mongiardo and Caterina Dominijanni Mongiardo; his wife Katherine Mongiardo; his son Dominick Mongiardo; and his sister Antionette Mongiardo.

He is survived by: his children, Kathy Mongiardo Thacker (Voncel) of Hindman, KY, Daniel Monigardo (Allison) of Lexington, KY and Vincent Mongiardo (Natasa) of Lexington, KY; and his grandchildren, Anika, Kate, Lidia, Barron and Leila.
