He was predeceased by: his father Joe Yates. He is survived by: his mother Louise Yates; his siblings, Kathy Langford, Wesley Yates, Malinda Austin and Bonnie Phelps; his nephew Kevin Yates; and his nieces, Kristina Kimbleton, Patricia Marksbury, Amanda Phelps and Kellie Phelps. He is also survived by fourteen great-nieces and nephews.
