It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Vaught Yates of Bloomfield, Kentucky, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vola "Buddy" Vaught and Alene June Johnson Vaught. She is survived by: her husband Billy Yates; her children, Timothy Toohey (Megan Hernandez) of Bardstown, Jessica Jenkins of Bloomfield, Zack Olive (Joey) of Bloomfield and Joseph L. Yates (Stazia) of Bloomfield; her siblings, David Hochstrasser (Cheryl) of Louisville, Diane Brewer of Mt. Washington, Dean Vaught (Mary) of Indianapolis, Dennis Vaught (Lori) of Louisville and Vola; and her grandchildren, Madison, Kiley Jo, Joe Jr., Bowman and Lila.

“Cara and I express our deepest sympathy. Darlene and I were very close when we were growing up. My Mom, Goldie Jean Priddy and Aunt June has told the story many times how when we were babies, they would sit us side by side, and we showed our love towards each other by reaching over and biting one another. :) Don't remember that, but I do remember many great memories of our times together. My first concert (Beach Boys) and my first movie (Jaws) was with Darlene. She always had a smile!”
