He was predeceased by: his parents, John Whitaker and Flossie Mae Combs Whitaker; and his siblings, Charles Whitaker, Earl Whitaker and Emmalene Whitaker.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Whitaker of Big Creek, Jimmy Whitaker of Big Creek, Randall Whitaker (Vickie), Kathy Whitaker of Big Creek and Leah Whitaker Combs (Jason); his siblings, Caddie Whitaker (Freda), Sherman Whitaker (Pat), Billy Ray Whitaker of Big Creek, Matilda Smith of Somerset, Laura Etta Lewis (Pearl), Shirley Lewis (Victor) and Debbie Melton (Bill); his grandchildren, Michael Moore (Felecia), Nicole Chavarria (Eric) and Eric Whitaker (Mckenzie); his great grandchildren, Connor Combs, Caleb Combs, Amelia Moore, Jaxon Thompson and Savannah S. Whitaker; and his niece Jennifer Melton. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
