He was predeceased by: his father Joe Thompson; and his siblings, Joanne, Lorene, Peggy, Eddie and Clevie.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Webb Thompson; his sons, Brian Thompson and Steven Thompson (LeeAnn); and his siblings, Louis Thompson (Lisa), Delena Hawkins, Lois Fuqua, Robin Wilson, Sandra Thompson, Mary Troxell and Ann Haysley. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
