He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Carter and Ruth Byassee Carter. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Finnell Carter; his sons, Matt Carter (Melanie) of Paducah, Stephen Carter (Natalie) of Paducah and Aaron Carter (Nickie) of Benton; his grandchildren, Jessica Strain (Colby), Blake Strader, Bailey Strader, Emily Paige Carter, Bethany Carter and Kylie Elizabeth Carter; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wyatt and Sophia Strain; his sisters, Debra Ruskey of St. Louis and Vera J. Cunningham of Columbus; and his mother-in-law Margaret Finnell of Paducah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
