He is survived by: his spouse Kay Hamilton Eplin; his children, Bernie Eplin (Julia) and Amanda Eplin (Tony Mullins); his sisters, Madge Allen of Betsy Layne, Betty Sparks of Campton and Ada Gillespie of Grethel, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" Prater and Molly Lorene Ousley; and his brothers, Lenard Eplin, Melvin Eplin, Elmer Eplin and Larry "Blue" Eplin.
