He was predeceased by: his daughter Johnessa; and his parents, Essie Brooks and Noble Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Tamera Hughes; his children, John William Brooks (Ashley) of Richmond, Khandra Hoxit of Centralia, WA, Joshua Hoxit (Connie) of Germany, Devin Hoyt (Brandy) of Napavine Wa, Zachary Hoyt (Madelyn) of Toledo, WA and Darrell Briggs (Liz) of Richmond Ky; his parents-in-law, Paul and Janet; and his siblings, Noble Brooks (Sandra), James Junior Potter (Betty), Billy Joe Potter, Ann Potter Moceelme, Janice Kay Abner and Virginia Mae Fife (Jerry). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
