He was predeceased by: his father David Shafer. He is survived by: his mother Freda Belcher Shafer of Richmond; his children, William Tyler Shafer of Berea, Clifton Seth Shafer of Nicholasville and Payton Eliane Rowland Shafer of Berea; his sisters, Nanette Moberly Williams of Richmond, Caroline Boyd of Nicholasville and Ellen Ross of Scottsville; his fiancée Sara St. John of Berea; and his fiancée's child Hagen Denson.
