He was predeceased by: his father Darrell Cain; and his sister Tressie Caldwell. He is survived by: his children, Kristie Lawson (Josh Malone) of Corbin, KY and Kevin Cain (Rebecca) of Berea, KY; his aunts, Wanda Manhanke, Faye Miller and Evelyn Tuttle; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Maddie, Katie, Montana, Macie, LeAmber, Lucius, Morgan and Meagan. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and friends.
