He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carpenter and Annie Kirby Carpenter; and his siblings, Norman'Cotton'Carpenter, David Carpenter, Reece Anderson, Pearl Thomas, Gladys Mink, Nettie Fletcher and Elizabeth Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Carpenter; his children, Ronald Carpenter Jr. (Rhonda) and Bonita Fleming; his siblings, Jay Carpenter (Mildred), Faye Miller and Dessie Himes; his grandchildren, Cassandra Kendrick, Christian Hardesty and Alvin Lee Carpenter; and his great grandchildren, Elijah and Kyndall Kendrick.
